Bowral High School Welcomes Aurora Selective High School - Igniting a new way of learning
From January 2019 Aurora Selective High School will have a satellite campus within the grounds of Bowral High School, located within the Library. This means that students who meet the criteria for a place in a selective high school no longer need to travel 90 minutes to the nearest selective high school, but instead be encompassed into the Bowral High School community. English, Mathematics and Science for these students will be conducted in the designated Aurora space in the BHS library each morning. All other subjects will be undertaken with their peers, in the classrooms of Bowral High School. Thus ensuring well-rounded students who have had access to the very best available in teaching and learning, whilst still learning, living and connecting socially with their local peers.
The new air-conditioned state of the art classroom space features whiteboard tables, group work areas and up to the date computers with the latest video conferencing software for the students to interact with their Aurora classmates and teachers across the state.
Students entering year 7 sit the NSW Selective Schools Test, while students wishing to enter the selective stream in years 8, 9, and 10 should contact either Bowral High School or Aurora College for further details.
